Legs are dark brown and somewhat dun patterned (no zebra stripes). Mane and tail are dark brown with black shading. dark brown dun stripe, groin and bottom of chest are shaded with the dark brown. Eyes are glossy body is matte. TACK- bridle is black leather English type with split reins and silver tone hardware. Saddle is western-ish hard plastic red brown color (with white dots running along some of the inside edges), white felt lined with chocolate colored leather Pony Express bag on top. The bag is a square 1 piece leather patch that has holes for the horn and cantle (which are yellow) and 4 small vertical pockets that have small old fashioned style silver painted skeleton key padlocks hanging loosely from silver tone eyelets. The girth is chestnut colored leather that has realistic buckle and leather keeper. The stirrups are chestnut colored plastic bell type with the California Rose tooling pattern on both sides and hang from leather lace straps also with silver tone hardware. I bought mine at a Lexington KY horse supply store in 2002 when War Emblem won the Derby (That was my first Derby trip :) ). I'm not thrilled with the way the saddle is painted, the paint on the plastic is STILL gooey (it's 2009 now) The painted locks are dry but the saddle seems that it will never dry fully, I can make a dent in each of the colors of the saddle with my nail as of today. I'm wondering if the saddle was painted with old Testers model paint which acts the same way. BASE- Produced in 2001, 3500 sets made.
