Proud Arabian Mare

Sculped by... well this is one of those fine-line hair-splitting situations. Maureen Love Calvert worked for Hagen-Renaker where she sculpted the infamous Zara and Zilla Arabians. Chris Hess kind of seemed to "borrow" the design. Mrs. Calvert's design is smaller of course, however they are remarkably similar when one looks at the two sets of horses side by side and in hand. Ok let's face it they are identical. Hagen-Ranaker brought some form of legal action aginst Breyer for copyright infringement. Production of the Old Mold PAMs and PAFs was tempararilary halted untill the molds were altered and an agreement was aranged and money changed hands. It seems that there were not long standing hard feelings between the two companies as Mrs. Calvert has done several molds for Breyer since the incedent. Note to Artist: Know your copyright laws! So lets say that Mrs. Calvert sculped them and Chris Hess altered the mold enough to satisfy copyright lawyers at a later date. the "B".
